What is Eye Tracking? How can eye tracking be used to help a person? What tools are used in measuring eye tracking?

OBJECTIVES

The objective of this lesson is to introduce middle school students to the concept of eye tracking and its applications by exploring actual eye tracking apps on their computers that will use their webcam.

Videos and examples of eye tracking software being used

ACTIVITY INSTRUCTIONS

● Hand out printed handouts with illustrations of eye-tracking systems to help students visualize the process. 4. Applications of Eye Tracking (15 minutes) ● Discuss applications of eye tracking 5. Interactive Activity (15 minutes) ● Using eye-tracking software, Gazewear - allows students to experience eye tracking firsthand. ● Students will conduct an activity where they simulate eye tracking by using the examples from the GazeWear website and then conduct their own experiment. ● Discuss the results as a group and ask students to share any patterns or insights they discovered.
