Frankenstein in the world of virtual reality
This lesson will introduce the students to Computer Science and its applications in the Language Arts Classroom. Students will be introduced to the field of computer science and virtual reality, then adapt their current reading material to this knowledge by taking virtual tours of the various settings of the novel. The students will tour Geneva and Ingolstadt to orient themselves to the two main settings and understand their place in the world.

ASSESSMENT PRE/POST-TEST
Instead of a standard test, students will use exit cards to answer the following questions: How comfortable am I with the topic of Computer Science? What else would I like to know about this important topic?
OBJECTIVES
Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.

ACTIVITY INSTRUCTIONS
Students will begin with the assignment: NewsELA “Growing push to expose more students to computer science”. Next, students will watch & take notes on: “Early Computing Crash Course”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5nskjZ_GoI
Supplemental Activity Students will explore the world of Frankenstein using a Virtual Reality Program designed by Milana Wolf of the University of Wyoming staff. The students will watch as their own personal avatar guides them through Geneva and Ingolstadt.
