ACTIVITY INSTRUCTIONS

Activate Schema: Students today we will be discussing the importance of computer safety when participating online and its impacts. What are some things to be aware of when using a computer or technology device safely? -Students can come up and write their answers on the chart paper or teacher can depending on class needs How does technology affect our lives and social skills? What impact does technology have for you in school or at home? What does it look like or sound like when you feel unsafe or uncomfortable when online? Ask for adult help… Who is responsible for making sure they feel safe and follow all procedures when in an online workspace? ME! Have kiddos then start to brainstorm a technology contract

Whole Group: As a class create a technology contract that both students and parents will sign. Focus: What does it mean to be responsible and safe while online? What does it look like to be responsible and safe while online? How does being a member of the online community affect your life? I DO: Explore one of the Interland destinations as a whole class: Type or post to google classroom the URL for Interland Interland Play Explore one of the destinations to show students what is expected Example: Reality River

WE Do: Guide students to follow the steps on Reality River and collaborate ideas to choosing the best solution for each question while building the bridge Ex: See Images
